Documentary film about a Chinese tea farmer, filmed in the Fujian Province of China as the creative research component of the above Masters project. Preproduction research was conducted in Adelaide. Production and post-production research undertaken in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Fujian and Adelaide, and involved managing Chinese and Australian crew to develop the film. Appendix

Awarded a High Distinction for short documentary film about Jennifer Gardner and her role in curating the Waite Arboretum and heritage gardens. Researched Gardner’s life story and the history and development of the gardens, as a basis for the production of the film.
Queensland University for Arts in Health at FMC

A major stakeholders’ perceptions report, produced on behalf of Queensland University for Arts in Health at Flinders Medical Centre. Research underpinning the report included staff briefings, observations, literature research, workshops and a series of face-to-face and phone interviews with senior hospital professional and medical staff. The report formed the basis of a successful funding bid by Arts in Health at Flinders to expand the program and create a full-time management position.
Queensland University for Life Without Barriers

A significant research project for Life without Barriers, an Australia-wide, non-government organisation. It involved briefings with staff, a literature review, facilities tour, and a series of workshops with young Adelaide asylum seekers to understand their perceptions of their lives in Adelaide and experiences with Life Without Barriers. The findings of the participatory needs and opportunity assessment contributed to the revision of the organisation’s asylum seeker services recreational activities and accommodation provision in South Australia.

Conducted stakeholder interviews as a basis for writing a participatory communication strategy to improve the communication performance of the Support to Refugees and Asylum Seekers Services unit of Life Without Barriers.

Research included a literature review and interviews into the histories of Afghanistan, Afghan cameleers, the White Australia policy, Mohamet Allum and his medical practice in Adelaide.

Awarded 100 per cent for a behaviour change marketing strategy based on a literature review, professional observations and interviews with farming advisors. The strategy considered barriers and opportunities to behaviour change in motivating sustainable soil management by farmers in the Northern and Yorke region of South Australia.
