Yan is a cinematographer with professional experience as a studio camera operator and lighting designer in Shanghai, China. He has worked for China Business Network (CBN) as a camera operator, studio manager and lighting technician on several of its television programs. At Shanghai Media Group, he worked as studio camera and light operator. At Shanghai Independent Film Production Co, he worked in postproduction on Under the Lion Mount, and cinematography on Shanghainess. In South Australia, he produced professional DVDs for clients. His wide ranging film skills also include photography, storyboarding, editing, colour grading and underwater photography, and he is competent in After Effects, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer. Yan has a Bachelor of Illumination (Communication University of China), a Master of Sociology (Shanghai University), and a Master’s Degree in Screen Media Production (Flinders University).
